1911 Glock Mags - The Alpha Foxtrot is a relative newcomer to the 1911 market. They have been making 1911 parts for over 30 years, but now offer complete firearms. But they have some interesting suggestions that I found interesting. They make 1911 pistols chambered in 9mm with custom covers, but what really caught my eye was their 1911-S15. This is a 1911 that takes Shield Arms magazines!
Yes you. But a little background on Alpha Foxtrot. They are a subsidiary of Dasan Manufacturing and use the aluminum Glock frame for their AF-C pistols.

The AF-C pistol is a top-of-the-line shotgun machined from 7075T6 aluminum alloy. The 18° 1911 grip angle points naturally and makes extended beaver tail lugs a thing of the past. Unlike polymer-frame pistols, which may only have textured "gas pedals" on the sides of the frames, we have the index finger for your thumb to control the muzzle of the pistol.

The Alpha Foxtrot makes a 9mm 1911. Currently only the government and commander length versions are listed on their website. But on Range Day, they found an interesting twist on this classic platform.
The 1911 pictured below has one of the smoothest slide:frames I've ever seen. The old adage "smooth as glass" is apt. According to marketing representative Josh Wee, it has a polished DLC coating that helps eliminate slippage.
My friend Steve was there and he admits he's not a fan of the 1911, but he really liked this 9mm 1911 covered DLC. It was such a smooth shooting and very accurate pistol.
Another 9mm 1911 offering from Alpha Foxtrot was this optic cut version. They plan to add a metal sight to the rear sight to use the spoke tail of the Glock rear sight. It is cut for the RMR CC like the rest of their pistols.

While those 1911s were interesting, Alpha Foxtrot's 1911-S15 stole the show. Check out the image above. The 1911-S15 Commander is smaller than the 1911. But it's only 15th of a 9mm! Alpha decided to modify the frame on the 1911-S15 to accept the Foxtrot Shield Arms magazine.
The 1911-S15 is small and no compromise for a 1911. It still has the straight pull trigger, light brake, grip safety, and single action you'd expect from a 1911.
The 1911-S15 sells for $1,490. It will soon arrive in March. According to Josh Vee, they change the check a bit, the dust cover goes all the way up, and because it's too small, they give the grip a bob tail. Pre-orders are live on their website.
